10/28/2016.................................................End of First Marking Period
October 3, 2016 - On Monday afternoon, October 3, 2016, Venessa Keesler, Michigan Department of Education Deputy Superintendent, visited our District. Dr. Keesler holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Harvard University, a Ph.D. in measurement and quantitative methods from Michigan State University, and is a graduate of Corunna High School. This is an outstanding honor to be selected for a site visit and to have the opportunity to share many of our great success stories. She had the opportunity to visit classrooms in our Middle and High Schools and learn more about our new Science Classroom project, technology implementation, partnership with the University of Michigan-Flint, Early College, CTE classes, Project-Based Learning projects, SOAR program, Eagles Nest, formative and summative assessment system, and other academic highlights of Byron Area Schools.
We were so excited to be able to share with Dr. Keesler what makes Byron "shine!"
